Wydad draw against MC Alger in CAF Champions League

Wydad were held to a 1-1 draw against MC Alger in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals on Friday.

In the 66th minute, Wydad were awarded a penalty which Yahia Jabrane managed to convert the ball into the back of the net to give his team a 1-0 lead.

MC Alger kept pushing forward to equalize, and in the 83rd minute, Miloud Rebiai leveled the score to save his team from a home defeat.

Moreover, the game’s referee, Bamlak Tessema, disallowed a controversial goal for the Moroccan giants in the 35th minute due to an offside.

Both teams are set to face each other again on May 22 in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
