SPL preview and predictions: Gameweek 24

Today will wittness the start of Gameweek 29 of the Saudi Professional League. 

We have five games, so before hearing the kick-off whistle,  here is all you need to know about these clashes. 

Al Raed vs Al Ittihad

Al Ittihad are keen to keep pace with Al Hilal and Al Shabab in the title race as they are currently in the third position with 41 points. With only 4 points gap that seperate them from the first position,  Al Ittihad seek to win the three points in order to save their season. Also,  they aim to win the SPL title as it became the only the trophy they could lift in this season.  

On the other side, Al Raed, who are in the 13th position with 28 points, eye to gain the three points of the game to escape the relegation area. 

Al Fateh vs Al Ahli Saudi 

This game is considered to be the last chance for Al Ahli’s head coach Vladan Milojević to save his job.  Under the Serbian manager,  Al Ahli are showing poor performance in the competition this season. 

They lost their last four games in the SPL, besides that they are in the Fifth position with 35 points.

Also,  Al Fateh are looking forward to winning the game to move themselves away from the relegation area, as they are in the twelfth position with 28 points. 

Al Shabab vs Al Taawoun

Al Shabab will be hoping to win the game to cement their position at the top of league table. Al Shabab could not win their last two games, so they will try to collect the three points to stay in the title winning race. 

However,  Al Shabab’s mission will not be easy as Al Taawoun are on good form.  Al Taawoun jumped to the fourth position,  besides that they reached to King Cup final,  so the game is expected to be full of surprises. 

Al Nassr vs Al Batin 

Al Nassr aim to keep moving towards the top four when they host Al Batin at MrsoolPark stadium. 

Al Nassr,  who are in the sixth position with 33 points, managed to achieve great results and reached the King Cup final, thanks to Abderrazak Hamdallah’s efforts. 

As for Al Batin, they aim to stay away from the relegation zone,  as they are currently at the twelfth position with 28 points. 

Al Hilal vs Al Qadsiah

This game is considered to one of the most important matches for Al Hilal in this season.  They aim to win the three points in order to cement their position at top of the table. 

Al Hilal are currently sharing the first position with Al Shabab,  as both of them have 45 points,  so it is important for them to achieve the victory. 

Al Qadsiah also aim to keep their unbeaten streak running. They are currently at the seventh position with 31 points.
