Morocco defeats Mali and crowns the African Nations Championship title

The Moroccan national team was crowned champion of the African Nations Championship for the Local, after defeating Mali with two clean goals, in the match that was held on Sunday evening at Ahmed Ahedjou Stadium in Cameroon.

The two goals of the Moroccan national team, Sofiane Bovetini, scored in the 69th minute of the match, and striker Ayoub Al Kaabi added a second goal for the Atlas Lions in the 79th minute.

Coach Hussein Amouta’s comrades were able to maintain the double lead until the final whistle was fired, and the lost time saw the financial player Isaka Samaki get the second warning, due to excessive roughness by running over Muhammad Ali Bamomer’s foot, to be dismissed and deficient Mali played until the end of the match.

The Moroccan national team succeeded in winning the championship title “Chan” for the second time in a row, after winning the title of the fifth edition, which is hosted at home in 2018.

The Moroccan national team went up to the final match after defeating Cameroon by 4-0, while Mali qualified after defeating Guinea 5-4 on penalties after the end of the original and overtime times with a goalless draw.

Before that, the Moroccan national team achieved four victories in the tournament after they started their career by defeating Togo 1-0, then they drew with Rwanda in the second round, before beating Uganda 5-2, then beating Zambia 3-1 in the quarter-finals.
