Ettifaq’s victory puts Al Shabab’s title hopes in doubt

Al Shabab have conceded their second consecutive defeat in the Saudi Professional League after they were beaten by Ettifaq 4-3 on Friday. 

Al Shabab managed to end the first half with a 2-1 lead, as Ighalo netted a sensational brace before Ettifaq’s Walid Azaro scores his team’s first goal.

The second half kicked off and in the 48th minute, Ettifaq sealed the equalizer thanks to  Soliman Doukara’s efforts.

The minutes went on and Azaro completed his brace after netting another goal in the 68th minute to make the result 3-2.

However, Fabio Martins leveled the score for Al Shabab in the 75th minute, before Mohammed Al Kuwaykibi bagged the winner to gift Ettifaq three precious points.

On a similar note, Al Nasse achieved a 2-0 victory over Al Ain in the Saudi Professional League. 

Abderazak Hamdallah opened the score from the spot in the 45th minute before Nourdin Amrabat bagged the second goal in the 67th minute.

Following today’s defeat, Al Ain have officially relegated to the Second Division, as they currently sit at the bottom of the SPL table with 20 points.

On the other hand, Al Nassr are sit in the fifth position with 42 points.
