The shortlist for the Best FIFA Football Awards

FIFA has announced the shortlist of 11 players nominated one of them for the FIFA World Player of the Year 2020 award.
The Liverpool team was the one with the largest share of the nominations of its players, as 4 of its players entered the final list, after the contribution of three of the four candidates (Salah – Mane – Van Dijk) to the crowning of Liverpool in the Premier League after 30 years of absence from the coronation of this tournament.
The shortlist, which will be revealed the best player in the world on December 17th, is as follows:
– Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal / Juventus FC)
Scored 31 goals as Juventus won the Scudetto, becoming the first player to score 50 goals in the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A in the process.
– Thiago Alcântara (Spain / FC Bayern München / Liverpool FC)
Midfield mastermind of Bayern Munich’s treble-winning 2019/20 season (UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, and German Cup).
– Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium / Manchester City FC)
Named English Premier League Player of the Season after leading Manchester City to a second-place finish with 13 goals and 20 assists.
– Robert Lewandowski (Poland / FC Bayern München)
Claimed the quintuple with Bayern and became the second player ever to win a treble including the UEFA Champions League/European Cup while top-scoring in all three competitions.
– Sadio Mané (Senegal / Liverpool FC)
Lifted the FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League with Liverpool, contributing 18 goals to that domestic conquest and adding seven assists.
– Kylian Mbappé (France / Paris Saint-Germain)
Became the youngest player to score 15 goals in the UEFA Champions League and finished the curtailed 2019/20 Ligue 1 season as a joint-top scorer, with 18 goals.
– Lionel Messi (Argentina / FC Barcelona)
Finished last season as the top scorer (25) and assist-maker (21) in La Liga, as Barcelona missed out on the title.
– Neymar (Brazil / Paris Saint-Germain)
Won the domestic quadruple with Paris Saint-Germain and led the club to the UEFA Champions League final for the first time.
– Sergio Ramos (Spain / Real Madrid CF)
Led Real Madrid to the La Liga title and became the league’s all-time top-scoring defender.
-Mohamed Salah (Egypt / Liverpool FC )
Won the Adidas Golden Ball at the FIFA Club World Cup and ended the 2019/20 title-winning season with 19 goals.
– Virgil van Dijk (Netherlands / Liverpool FC)
Led Liverpool to FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League triumphs with consistently outstanding defensive displays.
