Moroccan Raja Club announced the appointment of Rachid Al-Andalusi as chairman of the club’s board of directors temporarily, succeeding Jawad Al-Zayat after his resignation from his position as president of the club, and the date of the club’s general assembly was postponed until a later date to be announced.

The club officials decided to make several many changes in some positions within the club after Jawad Al-Amin appointed a new general secretary to replace Anis Mahfouz, who may become second vice president.

More than one member resigned from their positions, headed by Imad Hadhur, Treasurer, Nawal Al-Eidawi, Assistant General Secretary, and Ibrahim Shukry, Chairman of the Competitions Committee.

Raja was faced with two legal options after Al-Zayat resigned and no one ran for the position of President, and the first legal option was activated, which was implemented and organized by the first paragraph of Chapter Four of Article 23 of the Basic Law.

Article 23 of the rules states, “In the event that a president resigns and there is no substitute for him, he will be compensated by the first deputy, and if he is not able to, he will be compensated by the second deputy until the nearest ordinary general assembly is convened and he elects a new office of directors for a new term.”
