Esperance defeat Zamalek 1-0 in the CAF Champions League

The Tunisian giants Esperance managed to defeat Egypt’s Zamalek 1-0 at Cairo International Stadium tonight in Matchday 4 of the CAF Champions League. 

Esperance’s Hamdou Elhoni scored the game’s only game to gift his team three precious points. 

In the first half, Zamalek were more defensive as they tried to block all Esperance’s scoring chances. 

Esperance’s Elhoni was on a good form today, as he caused a lot of troubles for the Egyptian team on their right side. 

In the 20th minute,  Zmalake’s defender Mahmoud Hamdy saved his net as he blocked a dangerous shot. 

The Tunisian team kept their pressure and in the 40th minute,  Zamalek’s keeper Mahmoud Abdelrahim blocked El Honi’s effort from a range to keep his net clean. 

The second half kicked off with a better performance from Zamalek. The Egyptian team was more offensive as they tried to score the opener. 

In the 63rd minute,  Zamalek’s Ferjani Sassi missed a dangerous scoring chance as Esperance’s keeper swept Zamalek’s midfielder header away from his net. 

The minutes ticked by and in the 73rd minute,  El Honi’s moment of glory came as he bagged the ball in Zamalek’s net to lead his team to a precious victory. 

Following today’s game,  Esperance reached 10 points and they are at thetop of the Group D,  while Zamalek are in the third position with only two points .
