The Olympic Council of Asia announced, in its 39th session, which was hosted by the Omani capital, Muscat, that the Qatari capital, Doha, has won the bid to host the “Asia 2030” Asian Games after it outperformed the file of Riyadh, which will host the 2034 round after it won the highest percentage of votes from the General Assembly.

The organization of the Asian Games, “Asiad 2030”, was assigned to Doha, while Riyadh won the file of organizing Asiad 2034, as the West Asia region will host two sessions of the Asian Games, after the members of the General Assembly approved the proposal of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahd, Chairman of the Olympic Council of Asia, to obtain the highest percentage One of the votes is the honor of organizing 2030, while the next tournament goes to the second-place holder.

The voting process was delayed for more than three hours from the date set for it, due to technical problems in the voting process that was supposed to take place electronically, so the session chair decided that the voting process would take place in two parts, electronically for the representatives of the countries attending the meeting from a distance, and on paper for the representatives of the countries located in the hall.

The counting and counting of votes took place in the presence of representatives of the two competing files, so Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahad, President of the Olympic Council of Asia, officially announced the victory of the Doha file to organize Asia 2030, for the second time after Qatar had previously hosted the tournament in 2006.
