Abdelghani cleared of racism against Seba

The Saudi Football Federation Discipline and Ethics Committee cleared Al Nassr executive manager Hussein Abdelghani of racism against Al Shabab’s Brazilian winger Seba. 

The player claimed that he was racially abused by Abdelghani during the game between Al Shabab and Al Nassr in the 18th week of the Saudi Professional League. 

The committee also issued several decisions, regarding the events that happened during the match. 

1- Hussein Abdelghani is suspended for two matches and he is fined 40,000 riyals for attempting to assault an official from Al Shabab. The player is cleared of racism accusations. 

2- Khaled Al Baltan, President of Al Shabab, is suspended for three matches and he is fined 40,000 riyals for being involved in a conflict with Al Nassr’s bench and insulting the opponent at the end of the game. He can appeal against the decision. 

3- Seba is suspended for two matches and he is fined 200,000 riyals for his statements after the match, which was published on his club’s official Twitter account. He can appeal against the decision. 

4- Al Shabab club is fined 200,000 riyals for publishing a statement to stir up the popular feeling. 

5- The Committee referred the case of one of the accused people, who are not subject to the committee’s authority, to the competent authorities. 

Al Nassr President, Dr. Safwan Al-Swaiket, condemned the committee’s decisions, adding that he will take the case to the Public Prosecution and the Criminal Court.
