Southgate attending Udinese-Roma to watch Abraham and Smalling

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, England boss Gareth Southgate will be at the Dacia Arena tonight to watch Tammy Abraham and Chris Smalling in action during Udinese–Roma.

Both players have scored one goal so far this season and are expected to start at the Dacia Arena where José Mourinho’s Roma face Andrea Sottil’s Udinese.

The Special One is not expected to rotate his squad despite the imminent Europa League group stage game against Ludogorets on Thursday.

Abraham joined the Giallorossi last summer and became the most prolific debutant in the club’s history with 27 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions.

He made his senior England debut in 2017 and has scored three goals in 11 appearances with the Three Lions. His last one was in a Nations League clash against Italy this past June.

Smalling, on the other hand, made the last of his 31 appearances with the Three Lions in 2017.

According to Gazzetta, Abraham is the main target of Southgate’s trip to Italy, but the England coach could also keep an eye on his compatriot who has had a great start to the season with the Giallorossi.
