Al Nassr were held to a 1-1 draw against Foolad in Matchday 3 of the AFC Champions League group stage on Tuesday at King Saud University Stadium.
The first half ended with a goalless draw after Al Nassr spurned a slew of goal-scoring chances.
Against the run of play, Foolad took the lead in the 52nd minute after Al Nassr’s Abdulelah Ali scored an own goal.
The Saudi team upped their pressure and managed to score the equalizer, but Follad stood their ground and managed to keep their net clean.
In the 69th minute, Petros equalized the score and managed to save his team from being beaten at their home ground.
On a similar note, Al Sadd thrashed Al Wehdat 3-1, as Baghdad Bounedjah opened the score in the 2nd minute to give his team the early lead.
Seven minutes later, Boualem Khoukhi doubled the score to make it 2-0. The Qatari team kept their pressure and in the 26th minute, Hassan Al Haydos netted the third to make it 3-0.
The minutes went on and in the 63rd minute, Ahmed Samir scored Al Wehdat’s only goal in the game, but it was not enough to save their day.
