Al Ahly’s Hamdy Fathy suffers injury setback

Al Ahly’s midfielder Hamdy Fathy picked up an elbow injury during Egypt’s game against Kenya in the fifth fixture of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Al Ahly’s director of football Sayed Abdelhafiz stated that Hamdy Fathy will undergo a scan on his elbow to evaluate his injury.

Abdelhafiz added that  Fathy’s scan will reveal the number of matches that the player is expected to miss with Al Ahly.

On a similar note, Al Ahly’s board of directors assigned Khaled El Darandaly,  the baord’s member, to lead Al Ahly’s delegation to Sudan. 

The Red Eagles are set to face Sudan’s Merrikh SC in Matchday 5 of the CAF Champions League group stage. 

The Cairo Giants currently sit in second place with a total of seven points in four games
