Al Ahly deny rumors regarding El Shahat’s departure

Al Ahly director of
football Sayed Abdelhafiz denied on Thursday the rumors that linked the first-team
player Hussein El Shahat with a move out of the Red Devils.

Abdelhafiz added that the player did not receive any offers from the Arabian Gulf
clubs, adding that the club is used to these rumors that link the team players
with offers from European and Arab clubs.

Asked about the offers that the team’s key players, Mohamed El Shenawy and El
Shahat, received, he said that both players did not receive any offers, noting
that the club will not sell any first-team player.

Abdelhafiz stressed that the team’s head coach Pitso Mosimane is focusing on
the team’s upcoming challenges, adding that Mosimane counts on all the team’s
players.

Al Ahly’s director of football said that the team expects a tough clash against
Tanzania’s Simba FC as the Tanzanian giants developed a lot and they are
playing beautiful football.

Abdelhafiz commented on his decision to impose a fine on the first-team players
if they address media, saying that the first-team players are responsible and
his decision comes to make the players more concentrated on the upcoming
challenges.

On the other hand, Al Ahly board appointed Mohamed El Damaty as the head of the
team’s delegation to Tanzania and decided to provide a private jet for the team
in their trip for the match against Simba FC.

Al Ahly started the CAF Champions League group stage with a 3-0 win over Sudan’s
Al Merrikh SC of Sudan.

Abdelhafiz praised the team’s veteran Walid Soliman for his decision to
accompany the team in the pre-match camp despite being out of the game due to
being injured.

It is worth mentioning that the team’s key players, Ali Maaloul and Soliman, are set to miss the game against Simba FC due to being injured and
they will continue their recovery programs, while El Shahat will miss the game
due to being suspended for four games after the conflict that he was involved
in during the CAF Champions League final against Zamalek.
