Zamalek draw against Pyramids in EPL

Zamalek were held to a 1-1 draw on Sunday against Pyramids in Matchday 19 of the Egyptian Premier League (EPL).

Pyramids had the upper hand in the first half and spurned a slew of goalscoring chances. However, in the 39th minute, Abdullah El Said broke the deadlock after he found the back of Zamalek’s net.

El Said dribbled Zamalek’s defender before he latched the ball into the right bottom of the net to give his team a 1-0 lead.

The second half kicked off with Zamalek pushing forward to equalize. The White Knights dominated the game, but Pyramids stood their ground and managed to keep their net clean.

After missing Sherif Ekramy’s net several times, Zamalek were awarded a penalty in the dying minutes of the game.

Achraf Bencharki converted it into Ekramy’s net to level the score, but the remaining minutes were not enough to score another goal.

Following tonight’s encounter, Zamalek reached 41 points at the top of the table, while Pyramids stayed in the third position with 31 points.
