Vladan Milojević breaks his silence after being sacked by Al Ahli

After a poor run of form left the team in the seventh position, Al Ahli Saudi’s board decided to sack the Serbian manager.

Milojević broke his silence after being sacked, as he spoke about his experience with the club and what led the team to this difficult situation.

“Al Ahli was in the second position in the Saudi Professional League after the end of the first half of the season. However, we could not maintain our form as the club’s board failed to sign any of the players that I requested to sign during the winter transfer window.”

“Also, we suffered a lot of injuries which forced us to miss many important players. This eventually affected the team’s performance and led us to achieve bad results.”

“Football in Saudi Arabia is not the same as in Europe. However, I gained a lot of experience there, and I also made new friends.”

“Saudi clubs invest a lot of money in the football sector, but Al Ahli suffered a lot of issues recently. Also, most of the foreigners do not adapt to the lifestyle there, especially if they came just to get money.”

“During this season, Al Ahli’s board could not pay the late payments of the players, which affected a lot on the team. The COVID-19 pandemic haunted everything there, and the things were not the same anymore.”

Milojević concluded that the players and managers in Saudi Arabia do not receive huge amounts of money, as the clubs receive financial support from the country.

Also, Milojević added that because of the COVID-19 pandemic, all the sponsors terminated their contracts with the clubs, which further complicates the club’s financial crisis.”
