The UAE Federation signs a cooperation agreement with its Iraqi counterpart … and the Professional League reveals the nominees for the Best Awards

The UAE Professional League has announced the nominees for the Best Monthly Awards in the League Championship for the Best Player, Goalkeeper, and Coach for December.

According to the final list, 5 players were nominated for the Best Player of the Month award for December, and they are Utapek Shukurf of Sharjah, Abdullah Ramadan, Al Jazeera player, Ryan Mendes, Al Nasr, Ramon Lopez, Khorfakkan, and Paul Joss Amboku, Al Wahda player.

Among the candidates for the Best Coach of the Month award for December is Abdulaziz Al Anbari, coach of Sharjah, Dutch coach Marcel Kaiser, Al Jazeera coach, and Romanian Daniel Isaila, coach of Bani Yas.

The list of nominees for the Best Goalkeeper Award included Fahad Al-Dhanhani from Bani Yas, and Jamal Abdullah from Ittihad Kalba, and Ali Khasif from Al-Jazirah after these guards contributed to the superiority of their teams over the past month with their decisive responses, and Jamal Abdullah kept his nets clean in two matches, and in turn, he succeeded Ali Khasif to keep his sheets clean twice in December. In contrast, Al-Dhanhani managed to keep his nets clean in 3 games in December.

The UAE Football Association also signed a cooperation agreement with its Iraqi counterpart, which includes cooperation in several areas between the two federations, with the aim of developing the game and promoting it, in the presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the Football Association, and President of the Interim Authority for the Iraqi Football Association Iyad Bunyan.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi expressed his happiness with this agreement and their keenness to provide all support and assistance to the Iraqi Football Association and to put all the capabilities of the UAE Football Association available at their disposal at any time, stressing that they will strive to help lift the ban imposed on Iraqi football and return to host matches in Iraq to return Iraq is better, more beautiful and stronger than it was in the past.

He added that Iraq is a strong team and the UAE team benefits from such meetings that bring together the teams, pointing out that he hopes that the two teams will achieve their goals from this friendly match and be in a better position to prepare for the next matches.

While the Dutch coach of the Emirates national team Van Marwijk confirmed Al-Abyad’s readiness for the match against Iraq next Tuesday, as part of the team’s preparations for the joint Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup.

Marwijk said in his statements: “The morale of the players is high, after going through the midst of past training, and the Iraqi team is one of the strong teams, which we hope to benefit from friction with them at the end of the current local camp.”

He added: “I preferred to play one match against Iraq and focus on it and benefit from it technically so that we do not expose the players to fatigue by playing more than one match, especially since the season has reached the middle and the end of the first round, in addition to the lack of time for gathering and preparations, and every match needs 3 days of preparation and preparation, which is what It may affect the coaching staff and players’ plans.

He continued: “All the players are ready, and the squad combines both youth and experience, and we hope that everyone will present a good level that satisfies the fans.”
