SPL Winners and Losers after 22nd Week Results

The 22nd week of the Saudi Professional League ended on Saturday, so we will do a recap of what happened during this thrilling week.

Let’s start with the teams which managed to achieve the points.

Al Hilal: 

Al Hilal, with only 10 men, defeated Al Raed in a thrilling game and managed to keep pace with the SPL leaders Al Shabab. Al Hilal’s player Ali Al-Boleahi received a yellow card in the 61st minute, but his team secured the win after a big mistake from Al Raed’s goalkeeper in the dying minutes of the game. 

The Blue Waves reached 42 points and they are currently in second place, as they are keen to keep pace with the current leaders Al Shabab. 

Al Ittihad: 

 Al Ittihad managed to cement his place at the third position, after defeating Al Wehda 4-2. The Brazilian forward Romarinho was at the best level in this game, as he scored a brilliant hat-trick and led his team to an important victory. 

Al Ittihad are currently at the seventh position with 38 points.

Al Faisaly: 

Al Faisaly managed to keep their unbeaten run alive, as they were held to a draw against Al Ain. Al Faisaly are currently in the seventh position and reached 30 points.

Al Batin: 

Al Bain shared the points with Al Taawoun in a thrilling game, as they pulled an impressive comeback to make the result 2-2. Al Batin are currently at the tenth position and reached 28 points. 

The Losers: 

Al Shaabab: 

 Al Shaabab were held to a draw against Qadsiah and gave the chance to Al Hilal to move 3 points closer to the lead. 

Al Shabaab’s Turki Al-Ammar saved his team as he scored the late equalizer and managed to save his team from unexpected loss. 

Al Ahli: 

Al Ahli lost for the third consecutive time in the Saudi Professional League, as Damac defeated them 3-1 on Saturday. 

Al Ahli are currently in fourth place with 35 points, and they are in danger to lose it in the upcoming games.

Al Taawoun: 

Al Taawoun could not jump to fourth place, as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Al Batin. 

Al Taawoun failed to keep their lead in the game, as Al Batin managed to pull an impressive comeback. 

They are currently in the fifth position with 32 points.

Al Nassr: 

Al Nassr failed to achieve an important victory against Al Ettifaq, despite that Al Ettifaq continued the game with 10 players only.

 Al Nassr are currently at the seventh position with 30 points and they are keen to improve their performance in order to book an AFC Champions League qualifying position.
