Qatar SC are close to sign Benlamri

Qatar SC have been linked with a move to sign Djamel Benlamri from Lyon starting from the next season. 

The 31 years old Algerian international has been struggling for playing opportunities, besides that his contract will expire by the end of the current season and there was no intention from his French club to extend his contract. 

Benlamri came close to signing Qatar SC, as they offered him a two-year deal that worth €2m. 

The Algerian center back would join his counterpart Youcef Belaïli in the Qatari side, besides that he is keen to get more playing minutes in a new club in order to join Alegria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
