Moore’s header helps Wales earn draw against Switzerland at Euro 2020

Switzerland were held to a 1-1 draw against Wales on Saturday Baku Olympic Stadium in Matchday 1 of Group A at Euro 2020.

Switzerland took the lead in the 19th minute, as Breel Embolo managed to convert Xherdan Shaqiri’s cross into the back of Danny Ward’s net.

The minutes went on and Wales tried to come back with the result, but Switzerland stood their ground and managed to keep their net clean.

With his head wrapped in bands, Kieffer Moore bagged the equalizer in the 74th minute with an impressive header to gift his team a precious point in their European journey.

Moore’s header also kept a special record for Wales, as they did not lose their opening games in any competition throughout their history.

On the other hand, Shaqiri managed to set an impressive record for himself, as he contributed in 50% of Switzerland’s goals since 2014.

During that time, the Switzerland team has registered 16 goals, with Liverpool’s midfielder contributing to 8 of them.
