Al Ahly managed to achieve an important 2-1 victory over their arch-rivals Zamalek in Cairo Derby on Sunday in a postponed game from Matchweek 4 of the Egyptian Premier League.
Mohamed Sherif gifted his team the victory, after scoring a marvelous brace. In the 21st minute, Sherif netted the opener, as Ayman Ashraf delivered a sensational pass and Sherif converted the ball with a sharp finish.
The Red Eagles upped their pressure and kept their dominance in the game, but Zamalek managed to keep their net clean.
In the 31st minute, Zamalek’s Shikabala equalized the score from a sensational screamer to level the score 1-1.
Two minutes later, Sherif completed his brace with an adorable screamer to gift his team a 2-1 lead.
The minutes went on and the White Knights tried to equalize the score, but they failed to convert any of their chances to goals.
Following today’s game, Zamalek stayed at the top of the table with 33 points, while Al Ahly are in the second position with 30 points and they still have three games in their hand.
