Mauritania qualify for the 2021 AFCON

Mauritania managed to secure their qualification to 2021 African Cup of Nations after defeating Central African Republic 1-0 on Tuesday. 

Mauritania’s Abou Bakr Kamara gifted his team a precious win, as he netted the first goal in the 4th minute of the game.

Following today’s victory, Mauritania are currently at the second position of Group E with 9 points, and they managed to book a spot in the 2021 AFCON that will be held in Cameroon. 

On a similar note, Ethiopia qualified for the 2021 AFCON, despite their 3-1 loss to Ivory Coast tonight.

In the third minute, Ivory Coast’s Willy Boly opened the score while Franck Kessié netted the second goal in the 19th minute.

The Ivory Coast continued their dominance in the game and Jean Evrard Kouassi bagged the third goal in the 76th minute.

In the 74th minute, Ethiopia’s Getane Gepetto scored his team’s only goal in the game.

Ethiopia are currently in the second position in Group K with 9 points, while Ivory Coast are at the top of the table with 13 points.
