Juventus and Milan are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger as a free agent at the end of the season.
Having entered the last six months of his contract at Stamford Bridge, Rudiger is now eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with any other club ahead of a free transfer in June.
The former Roma centre-back has rejected Chelsea’s opening contract extension offer.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus have sounded out the defender’s availability and Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Milan are also monitoring the situation.
Juventus could see Matthijs de Ligt leave at the end of the season, while Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli runs out of contract in June.
The Rossoneri are also looking for a replacement for the injured Simon Kjaer who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. However, Rudiger is unlikely to leave Chelsea in January.
Real Madrid are leading the race to secure the defender’s services at the end of the season, but the Serie A giants are keeping a close eye on the 28-year-old.
Rudiger joined Chelsea from Roma in a €35m move in the summer of 2017.
The Germany international has played 161 games at Stamford Bridge, winning four trophies, including one Champions League and one Europa League.
