Istiklol hammer Al Hilal 4-1 in AFC Champions League

Istiklol thrashed Al Hilal 4-1 on Saturday in Matchday 4 of the AFC Champions League group stage. 

Istiklol managed to finish the first half with 2-1 lead. 

Istiklol pulled an impressive comeback. In the 24th minute, Bafetimbi Gomis gave Al Hilal the lead, but they failed to keep their lead furthermore. 

In the 39th minute, Manuckher Dzhalilove equalized the score, before he gave his team the lead in the 44th minute. 

The second half kicked off and Manuchehr Safarov followed his teammate’s footsteps, and bagged a Brace to gift his team a historic victory over the Saudi giants.

Following today’s game, Istiklol surged to the top of Group A with seven points, as they shared the first position with Al Hilal who also have seven points.
