Inzaghi ready for Milan derby after negative covid test

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has tested negative for COVID six days ahead of the derby against Milan.

The 45-year-old Italian coach tested positive for the virus on January 24 but he has recovered quickly and returned a negative test today, making him available for next weekend’s Derby della Madonnina.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Inzaghi has tested negative for COVID and will return to Appiano Gentile tomorrow, when squad training resumes in view of the derby against Milan.

The Italian coach has had a strong first half of the season in Milan and his Inter side currently sit top of the Serie A table after 22 games, four points ahead of the second place Rossoneri.

A win in the derby next weekend could see the Nerazzurri take a seven point lead at the top, and they have a game in hand following the postponement of their match against Bologna at the start of the year.
