Inter Milan have named Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi as their new coach to replace departed title-winner Antonio Conte, the Serie A champions said Thursday.
Inzaghi, 45, has signed a two-year contract having elected to leave the Rome club for Milan despite being offered an extension in the capital.
Lazio said it respected the decision of Inzaghi, who had also played for the team before becoming coach.
Inter won their first Serie A title in a decade this season to end Juventus’ run of nine consecutive championships.
But Conte, 51, disagreed with owners on the future of the club – namely the need to plug financial gaps with player sales – and recently left despite having a contract to 2022.
