Ibrahimovic doesn’t hold ballon d’or regrets, ‘they want mr. Perfect’

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was not bothered about the fact that he failed to win a Ballon d’Or during his long career.

The 40-year-old Swedish forward is widely regarded as one of the strongest forwards of all time, being decisive with a number of top clubs around the world like Ajax, Paris Saint-Germain and Milan. Despite scoring over 492 career goals at club level, he never won the coveted Ballon d’Or.

Speaking to Bild, Ibrahimovic first revealed his curiosity about the Bundesliga, a league where he has never played.

“I have always been curious about the Bundesliga. There is a team like Bayern Munich, they are an incredible club.

“Every time I played against them I could always see their facilities, the stadium, their organisation. The history of the club is impressive.”

He then revealed that he wasn’t very impressed with the Ballon d’Or and had no regrets.

“These are political awards. They want ‘Mr Perfect’. If you speak and say what you think you can’t get them. It’s easy to give them to Mr Nice Guy. It doesn’t change anything for me, it doesn’t make me better or worse.”
