Euro 2020: iconic facts and numbers ahead of kick-off

The UEFA European Football Championship has a lot of iconic facts and records throughout it’s history. 

Ahead of Euro 2020’s kick-off, we will spotlight some of the competition’s records:

Spain vs Italy is the most Euro’s common fixture as they have been drawn together six times. 

Germany set a new record in Euro 2012, after 8 of the team’s players managed to put their names in the competition’s score sheet. 

France are the most scoring team in the stoppage time.  Les Bleus netted six goals in the dying minutes of the games. 

Iker Casillas, the Span’s former keeper, has the most clean sheets in Euro’s history.  The Spaniard kept nine clean sheets in 14 appearances, conceding only five goals. 

Eigh players managed to score hat-trick in Euro’s history. The lost one to score a hattric was Spain’s former striker, David Villa, as he visited Russia’s net three times in the game in Euro 2008.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the most player to hit the woodwork, as his shots hit the post six times. 

Andres Inesta has fired 34 shots in Euro and became the Player with the most shots in the competition’s history; however, they all failed to hit the back of the oppnents’ nets.
