Etoile du Sportive beat Esperance in Tunisian Cup

Etoile du Sportive defeated Esperance 1-0 on Wednesday to advance to the quarter-finals of the Tunisian Cup.

After missing a slew of goal-scoring chances, Jacques Amour Taghnou Mbé opened the score in the 35th minute to give his team the lead.

The second half kicked off and Esperance upped their pressure to equalize the score, but Etoile’s defenders stood their ground and managed to keep their net clean. 

Hamdou El houni, Esperance’s winger, was close to equalizing the score, but Ayman Methlothi blocked his shot to keep his net clean.

Methlothi was needed again in the 88th minute after he deflected Abdelqader Badran’s shot to secure his team’s qualification to the Tunisian Cup quarter-finals.
