Egyptian League: Goalless draw between Al-Ahly and Pyramids

Al-Ahly drew 0-0 with Pyramids at the top of the tenth round matches in the Egyptian Premier League championship, which was held this evening, Tuesday, at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo.

With this result, Al-Ahly raised its score to 21 points at the top of the league standings “temporarily” until the match against Zamalek was held against its counterpart Egypt, the clearing next Thursday in the same round, while Pyramids are in fourth place with 14 points.

The match witnessed a great defensive reservation from both sides, as the two teams played not to lose, but Al-Ahly tried to snatch the three points in the last quarter-hour, but Pyramids goalkeeper Sherif Ikrami managed to deflect his goal valiantly and saved more than one ball.

Referee Jihad Greisha canceled a goal for Al-Ahly, under the pretext of friction with Sherif Ikrami inside the penalty area in the 77th minute.

The most dangerous attacks were from Al-Ahly’s side, through its Zambian striker Walter Bwalia, who received a cross from Mohamed Magdy “Afsha” a few minutes before the end of the match and placed it with his left foot, which was blocked by the Pyramids goalkeeper.

In another match, Smouha scored an important victory over his counterpart, the Arab Contractors, with two goals to one, in the match that was held at Jabal Al Akhdar stadium.

Smouha Ahmed Hamdi and Mustafa Fathi scored the goals, while the Arab Contractors goal was scored by Basem Ali.

Smouha raised his score to point 12, taking eighth place, while the contractors’ balance stagnated at the seventh point in the sixteenth place in the Egyptian league table.
