Denmark crowned champion of the Handball World Cup at the expense of Sweden

The Danish national team won the World Cup handball championship “Men” at the expense of its Swedish counterpart, after winning the 26-24 match in the match that was held Sunday evening at the Cairo International Stadium.

Cairo hosted the 27th championship of the Handball World Cup from 13 to 31 January 2021, as the Denmark team ultimately decided it on merit, thanks to the experience and brilliance of its players throughout the tournament.

The teams of Denmark and Sweden presented a great match worthy of their honorable history, which is full of championships and titles. The experience of the Danish team settled the match in its favor despite the great club witnessed in the first half, which ended in a 13-13 draw.

And the Swedish defense failed to address the danger of the Danish players in the second half, especially the terrible trio Hansen, Eunisen, and Hald.

The Danish team qualified for the World Cup final by beating European champion Spain 35-33, while Sweden qualified for the final after beating France 32/26 after an absence of 20 years.

Sweden won the World Handball Championship 4 times before, the last of which was in 1999 when Egypt hosted the tournament at the time, and the Swedish team beat Russia in the final of the tournament by 25-24.
