Candidates for a PSG exit this January

Paris Saint-Germain are focusing most of their attention on Kylian Mbappe’s renewal, but the club are also aware that they need to lighten their squad and will look to sell players this January.

The club currently have more than 30 first-team players on their books, and as a result will be desperate the rid themselves of some of their more peripheral stars.

Accoding to L’Equipe, PSG need to bring in around 100 million euros in the next two transfer markets, and the winter window is only a matter of days away.

The first exit is off to LaLiga Santander

Rafinha is the closest to leaving the Parc des Princes and Real Sociedad looks to be his most likely destination, having barely managed 221 minutes for PSG.

He’s expected to land in San Sebastian on an initial loan until the end of the season, so he would only temporarily reduce their wage bill.

Another 50 million euros

Thilo Kehrer and Abdou Diallo are others that could walk away this winter, and Transfermarkt values each at 25 million euros. Should PSG get 50m euros for the pair, they’d be pleased with their work.

Reluctant candidates

Julian Draxler and Layvin Kurzawa are others that, according to L’Equipe, PSG are keen to offload. Both, though, have contracts until 2024 and any interested club would have to spend to sign them, as well as engage in tough negotiations as neither player wants to leave Paris.

Sergio Rico is likely to be more open to a move, having fallen down the pecking order behind Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Donnarumma now, and Mauro Icardi is another who the club will want to shift.
