CAF turns down Zamalek’s request to postpone Teungueth’s match

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) rejected Zamalek’s request to postpone the game against Senegal’s Teungueth for 24 hours.
Zamalek will face Teungueth on Tuesday in Matchday 2 of the CAF Champions League group stage.
CAF stated that Zamalek’s delegation arrived in Senegal more than 24 hours ahead of the match, adding that Zamalek’s request does is not considered an emergency situation.
Zamalek’s delegation faced difficult circumstances in their journey to Senegal as they were stuck in Algeria as they were not permitted to fly over Mauritania.
However, Zamalek’s board contacted the concerned authorities to solve the problem and they also decided to sue the airlines.  Stade Lat Dior will host the match with no fans attendance as the club failed to get a written approval from the government to allow fans to attend the match.
The game is scheduled at 6:00 pm (Cairo Time). Zamalek started the group stage with a goalless draw at home against Algeria’s MC Alger while Teungueth lost the opening game in the group stage 2-1 to Espérance.
