Balotelli happy at Adana Demirspor, but would relish Serie A return

Mario Balotelli insists he is happy in Turkey with Adana Demirspor, but grinned when asked if he’d like a return to Serie A.

While much has been said about the striker’s potential comeback for the Italy squad, his club career is also a matter of discussion.

He is only 31 years old and has found his scoring boots in Turkey with 12 goals and six assists in 27 competitive games for Adana Demirspor this season.

“Playing in Turkey was a great challenge for me. I accepted many challenges in my career and I am really enjoying this one,” SuperMario told Sky Sport Italia.

“The fans in Turkey are very loyal, they care so much about their club and treat the players fantastically well.”

Balotelli isn’t the only Italian at Adana Demirspor, as former Roma, Milan and Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella followed him there.

“It’s great being coached by Montella, I used to watch him on TV when I was a kid, now he can give me great advice.”

Balo is following the current Serie A Scudetto race, with Milan followed by Napoli, Inter and Juventus.

“It’s a thrilling sprint finish and well worth following. Whoever wins, I will be happy.”

Naturally, the forward was asked if he would like a return to Serie A. His response was a wide grin.

“The smile says it all…”
