Attempts to persuade Jawad Al-Zayat to backtrack on his resignation from the presidency of Moroccan Al-Raja

Xenia Sports – London

Strong attempts are being made by officials of the board of directors of the Moroccan club, Raja Casablanca, to persuade the club’s president, “Jawad Al-Zayat”, to reverse his decision to resign from the club’s presidency.

Al-Zayat formally resigned from the presidency of Al-Raja Club, despite the team’s crowning of the Moroccan League title last season, but the difficult financial crisis that the team is going through prompted him to resign. And according to the Moroccan newspaper Al-botola the members of the Board of Directors of Raja Sports are holding a meeting with Al-Zayat to try to persuade him to stay at the helm of the club’s management.

Al-Raja club lives in difficult circumstances, especially in light of the players’ demands for their financial dues, and the team’s need to support more deals during the current transfer market in Morocco.

Officials and fans of Raja Club rejected the resignation submitted by Jawad Al-Zayat at this time, especially in light of the club’s need for administrative stability, and in the event of Al-Zayat’s insistence on resigning, the general assembly of Raja Club will be held during the month of December, to choose a new president for the club.
