Al Shabab thrash Al Ain to keep their league title hopes alive

Al Shabab thrashed Al Ain 5-1 on Wednesday in Matchday 28 of the Saudi Professional League.

Al Shabab kept their league title hopes alive following today’s victory, as they reduced the gap between them and Al Hilal to one point.

Seba opened the score in the 36th minute before Odion Ighalo doubled the score in the 41st minute to give Al Shabab a 2-0 lead.

Badou Ndiaye netted Al Ain’s only goal in the game, but it was not enough to save the day.

Al Shabab kept their dominance over the game and netted three more goals in the second half to gain three important points in order to keep their journey towards winning the SPL title.

Al Shabab reached 51 points and they are currently sit in the second position, four points behind the table leaders Al Hilal.
