Al-Shabab Saudi Coach: Our goal is to achieve a title that has been absent for 20 years

Pedro Caixina, coach of the Saudi club al-Shabab, confirmed during the press conference before their match against al-Ittihad in the semi-finals of the Mohammed VI Club Champions Cup, that his team is determined to regain the title of the championship absent for 20 years.

The two teams meet Wednesday evening in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in the semi-finals.

In the press conference of the match, al-shabab coach said that his team is in the process of playing a very strong meeting, pointing out that they will go through the first half, and the qualification will not be decided until after the return match.

“Al-Shabaab wants to achieve the championship after 20 years of absence. Our thinking now is about winning the title.”

“We have high-level professional players, young people are a big team and they meet a big team too, I don’t have any pressure but I’m looking for the title,” he said.

For his part, al-Shabab player Abdullah al-Shamkh said his team’s focus has been on the title since last season, noting that “al-Ittihad is a big team. “We will go into the first half in Riyadh and look for a positive result before the return match one month from now.”

In contrast, Fabio Carrillo, the coach of al-ittihad team, missed the press conference for the match.
