Al Nassr reach AFC Champions League round of 16

Al Nassr managed to secure their qualification to the AFC Champions League round of 16 after defeating Al Sadd of Qatar 2-1 on Thursday in the final fixture of the AFC Champions League group stage.

Al Nassr took the early after Abdelrazak Hamdallah broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute.

The Saudi giants maintained their dominance over the game and managed to bagg the second goal in the 74th minute, thanks to Abdelelah Al Amri’s effort.

Al Sadd tried to comeback in the game as Santi Cazorla scored a goal from the spot in the 83rd minute, but the minutes went on and Al Nassr managed to keep their 2-1 lead.

Following today’s game, Al Nassr surged to the top of their group with 11 points and managed to seal their qualification to the next round.

On the other hand, Al Sadd stayed in the second position with 8 points and they might qualify as the best second according to the other results.
