The Esperance Sports team won an important victory over its counterpart state Tunisian, with two goals to one, in the match that was held today, Saturday, at the Olympic El Menzah stadium, as part of the ninth round of the Tunisian championship.
Esperance forward Taha Yassin Al-Khunisi scored a brace, after a long drought of scoring with Bab Souika, which lasted for 161 days, while Victor Abata scored the stadium goal.
The Esperance team, led by its coach Mouin Chaabani, raised its score to 19 points in the lead, three points behind second-placed Union Bin Guerdane.
On the other hand, this defeat is the second in the stadium team’s career during the current season, after losing to Future Al Rajish, to occupy fifth place with 12 points.
The most prominent footage of the match was the moment Taha Al-Khunaisi scored a brace in the net of the stadium, to return to scoring after a long period of absence, as his last goal was against Etoile Sahel at the Bouali Al-Hawar stadium in the league competitions.
Al-Khunaisi sent a message to the club’s management and the technical staff led by Mouin Al-Shabani by scoring two goals at a time when Bab Souika is looking for a contract with a foreign striker during the winter transfer period.
