Al Hilal crowned champion of Saudi King’s Cup

Al Hilal team was crowned champion of Saudi King’s Cup, after beating Al Nassr 2-1 in the derby that brought the two teams together on Saturday, at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 

Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the prince of Riyadh, crowned Al-Hilal on behalf of King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud. 

Al Hilal succeeded in achieving the ninth championship in its history, and the third crowning in front of Al-Nassr team the traditional rival team of Al-Hilal team.

Al Hilal succeeded in scoring the first goal in the tenth minute through Korean defender Yang Hyun-so before French striker Pavtempi Gomez added the second goal from the penalty spot, which was counted after returning to VAR

Al Nassr reduced the score through substitute Ayman Yahya in the 71st minute after a great individual effort by the player.

The Polish referee gave extra six minutes after the match fulltime, which was not enough to al-Nassr to equalize the result despite the great pressure from Al-Nassr team.

The audience first appeared in Saudi competitions, by default from their homes through giant screens provided by the Saudi Ministry of Sports placed behind the goalkeepers.
