Al Faisaly defeated Al Ittihad 3-1 on Tuesday in the 20th week of the Saudi Professional League at King Abdul Aziz Sports City Stadium.
Al Ittihad starting line-up for the match consisted of: Grohi, Hegazi, Zeyad, Saud, Al Mansour, Al Ahmadi, Al Malki, Fahad, Romarinho, Al Aboud and Pirjovic.
Al Faisaly starting line-up for the match consisted of: Mustafa Malayekah, Igor, Raphael, Qassem, Al Hassan, Fayek, Ashraf, Romain, Alexander, Tavares and Guilherme.
Al Ittihad took the lead after 28 minutes by Romarinho who received a wonderful pass from Fahad Al Mowalad and put the ball in the back of the net.
Al Faisaly tried in the second half to return in the game and had many scoring chances but Al Ittihad defense stopped all their attempts.
In the 55th minute, Al Faisaly missed a clear chance to score as Al Ittihad’s defender Ahmed Hegazi cleared the ball from over the goal line.
Al Faisaly then dominated the match and scored three goals in the last 15 minutes of the match to secure victory.
Hamad Al Mansour’s screamer equalized the score for Al Faisaly while Tavares and Alexander Merkel won the game for Al Faisaly.
Al Ittihad failed to reach to the third position after the loss and they stayed fourth at the table with 32 points, while Al Faisaly jumped four positions to become 9th in the table with 26 points.
