Al-Ain: We will not give up the Togolese Laba Kodjo … Al-Ahly did not ask for his inclusion

Xenia Sports – London

The UAE club Al-Ain confirmed that there is absolutely no truth to what is reported about the abandonment of the Togolese striker Laba Kodjo, during the upcoming winter transfer window.

Majid Al Owais, general supervisor of football at Al Ain Club, said that it is difficult for Laba Kodjo to leave for any club during the current season because the player is one of the essential elements in the team’s squad, which the coach depends on in the UAE league matches.

He added that it is difficult to leave Laba Kodjo in the winter transfer period, but with the end of the current season, the matter will be discussed, provided that suitable offers arrive to sign the Togolese player, who has two seasons remaining in his contract.

He explained that the management of Al Ain Club will discuss the position of Laba Kodjo and the rest of the foreign players at the end of the next season, and no player will be dispensed with unless there is a suitable player at the same level.

Majed Al Owais denied that official offers from the Egyptian Al-Ahly Club had arrived to buy Laba Kodjo’s contract, stressing that the file is currently closed and the attacker’s departure would not be approved, but with the end of the season, all offers will be considered.

He explained, that no offers have come from Al-Ahly or any other club, especially with the official closure of the transfer window in the UAE league and most Arab leagues, and that there is no truth to the player’s desire to leave, as he lives in a very stable state within the ranks of Al Ain.
