Al Ahly reject offers for El Shenawy

Al Ahly’s board of directors, headed by president Mahmoud El Khatib, the departure of Mohamed El Shenawy, the team’s captain and goalkeeper, in the summer transfer window after receiving several offers from European and Gulf clubs.

Sayed Abdelhafiz, Al Ahly’s director of football, has also denied that the club received an offer from Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia to sign El Shenawy. 

Abdelhafiz said that several clubs aim to sign the Egyptian International goalkeeper, as a result of his impressive performance with the team, but the club has rejected all these offers as El Shenawy is one of the team’s key players.

Moreover, the Red Eagles are planning to sign Nogoom’s Karim Fouad, who is currently on loan to Enppi.

The Red Eagles are currently preparing to face Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.

Al Ahly sealed a 2-0 victory in Cairo in the first leg, and they are keen to achieve a good result in Saturday’s game to secure their qualification to the CAF Champions League semis.
