Al Ahly conclude preparations for Saturday’s clash

Al Ahly’s football first team carried out their pre-match training session on Friday at Lucas Moripe Stadium, as part of the team’s final preparations for Saturday’s encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The team’s final training session before Sundowns’ encounter saw the attendance of the media, as per the competition’s rule.

On a similar note, Pitso Mosimane, Al Ahly’s manager, spoke in the pre-match press conference of Al Ahly’s game against Mamelodi Sundowns in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.

“Of course you come here with the hope to qualify to the semis.  Winning 2-0 in the first leg is a slight advantage but it doesn’t mean that we qualify. Sundowns played a good game. It is time to be focused to deliver the team to the semi-finals. There are no excuses. “

“We came here 5 days before the match in order to adapt to the weather.  The hotel is good and the training ground is good. The weather is okay.”

Additionally, Al Ahly’s Medi-Cal staff confirmed that Mohamed Magdy Afsha is fit for Saturday’s game against Mamelodi Sundowns in the second of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.

The Reds will face Sundowns on Saturday at 3:00 PM at Lucas Moripe Stadium in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, after defeating the South African team 2-0 in the first leg.
