Al Ahly are frustrated with Jiyed’s decisions

Al Ahly have hit out at the referee’s decisions during their game against AS Vita Club of Congo in Matchday 3 of the CAF Champions League group stage. 

Al Ahly’s director of football was very frustrated against the game’s referee, who gave a controversial penalty to the Congolese team in the dying minutes of the match. 

Abdelhafiz stated that not using VAR in the CAF Champions League group stage is not logical, especially that the Moroccan referee Rédouane Jiyed gave AS Vita Club a controversial penalty. 

Abdelhafiz also added that the team missed a lot of scoring chances, which forced the team to miss an important victory. 

On a similar note, Abdlehafiz said that the Tunisian defender Ali Maaloul will join the team’s full training ahead of Ismaily SC’s game.

Also, he added that Mahmoud Wahid suffered a hamstring muscle strain and will be sidelined for one month. 

Al Ahly’s Akram Tawfik has returned to the team’s full training, after recovering from a minor ankle injury.

Tawfik was forced to miss our game against Congo’s AS Vita Club in the CAF Champions League group stage on Saturday.

Abdelhafiz concluded by stating that Kahraba is currently training away from his teammates and he will return to the team by a decision from the team’s head coach Pitso Mosimane.
