Al Ahli save themselves, end their losing streak

Al Ahli Saudi achieved an important victory over Al Shorta of Iraq on Wednesday night, after thrashing their opponents 3-0 in Matchday 3 of the AFC Champions League group stage. 

Laurențiu Reghecampf, the team’s new head coach, led his team to this sensational victory, which is also the first in his coaching tenure with Al Ahli. 

This was the team’s first victory after a disappointing streak of defeats. In their last 10 games, Al Ahli failed to achieve any victory as they lost seven games, and were held to three draws.

Also, Al Ahli managed to keep their net clean for the first time in their last 14 games. 

Before defeating Al Shorta 3-0 on Wednesday, the last clean sheet that Al Ahli achieved was against Abha in the 14th fixture of the Saudi Professional League. 

Additionally, Al Ahli set a new record marking their 50th victory in the AFC Champions League following their  3-0 win over Al Shortaat King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
