Zamalek defender tested positive Coronavirus before the African Champions League final

Xenia Sports – Cairo

The medical swab that Mahmoud Hamdi “Al-Wensh”, defender of the Zamalek team, underwent, proved that he had been infected with the emerging coronavirus “Covid 19”, as the opportunity to participate in the final of the African Champions League against Al-Ahly became very difficult.

Al-Ahly will face Zamalek next Friday, at nine at Cairo International Stadium, in the final match of the African Champions League, which is the first confrontation of its kind between the two clubs in the final of the continental tournament.

The medical swab confirmed that Zamalek defender Mahmoud Al-Wensh was infected with the Coronavirus, as the player’s fate became ambiguous regarding participation in the final match of the African Champions League.

The Portuguese coach, Jamie Pacheco, Zamalek club coach, was shocked after he learned of the “winsh” injury, especially as he is one of the distinguished players in the main white team squad.

Al-Winsh had led Egypt’s defense against Togo, in the third and fourth rounds of the 2022 African Nations Cup qualifiers, which will be held in Cameroon.
